Baking Inline Skates At Home
Grab one of your skates and loosen the laces all the way down with the tongue wide open so you can slip your foot in very easily.
Baking inline skates at home. Follow the time. Don t rush the process even if you can fit both skates in the oven. Preheat the oven to 175. With the oven now pre heated to 175 turn it off and place the sheet with your skate on the middle rack.
Your skates should come with directions on how long they should be baked. Once ready place one skate on the baking tray and place it on the center rack. Lay them sideways on the baking sheet. Bake until golden brown.
Don t put your skates directly on the rack. Skates on the baking sheet. Turn the oven off before placing the skates inside. Please be sure that you will not void the warranty on your new skates baking them at home.
While the oven is preheating prepare the skates by loosening the laces all the way down to the end of the boot. Some hockey players choose to heat mold their skates at home in the oven and others take them to a pro shop. If you can t fit them both at the same time just do one at a time but don t cut any corners the second time around. Put the baking sheet on the center rack and make sure the skates aren t touching anything except that sheet.
Even if you can fit 2 in your oven baking the skates 1 at a time will ease the pressure on you especially if it s your first time baking a skate. You can ruin your skates or worse. Place the skate on your baking sheet. Having them baked professionally at your local pro shop will generally not void it.
Once the oven has finished heating up turn it off and wait 30 seconds while the heating elements cool down. Place a single skate on a baking tray and loosen the tongue. Doing this will help the foot slide into the boot quickly and easily. But don t try this at home.
Slightly pull the tongue out and leave the top eyelet empty on both sides. Hockey skates are large and most ovens will only be able to fit 1 at a time. Place one skate on a standard baking sheet and just insert it into the oven about the center of the rack. Most skates should bake for 6 8 minutes.
At this point start your timer. Close it and let it bake for about six to eight minutes.
